Due to the limited kitchen space and provisions available on the train, no special menu alterations can be accommodated

Valentine’s Day Dinner Train February 12 – 15, 2026

  • Steak au Poivre- cracked pepper crusted NY strip steak with caramelized shallot & brandy demi glace, served with chef’s choice starch and vegetable
  • Chicken Rollatini stuffed with spinach fontina and prosciutto served over a roasted red pepper coulis with chef’s choice starch and vegetable
  • Potato and Crab Crusted Salmon with lemon butter served over roasted beet risotto and chef’s choice vegetable
  • Butternut Squash ravioli with roasted tomato, wild mushroom and Parmesan

All Entrees include Table Appetizer,  Salad, Dessert, Coffee and Water

Winter Dinner Train Saturdays February 21- March 28, 2026 

  • Prime Rib served with sour cream-chive mash potatoes, horseradish butter and green beans
  • Chicken Cacciatore served with roasted winter vegetables and chef’s choice starch
  • Seared Salmon with Dijon cream served over a roasted beet risotto cake with chef’s choice vegetable
  • Butternut Squash Ravioli with vodka sauce

All Entrees include Table Appetizer,  Salad, Dessert, Coffee and Water

Winter Brunch Train Sundays February 22 – March 29, 2026

  • Strawberry mascarpone french toast casserole with blueberry compote
  • Sauteed Chicken Breast with cranberry walnut chutney over flame roasted apple stuffing
  • Seared Salmon with mustard cream served over mashed potato and sauteed spinach
  • Spinach, Sweet Potato and Parmesan Frittata served with bacon-tomato jam over Belgian Waffle

All Entrees include Table Appetizer, Dessert, Coffee and Water

Rules of the Rails

The Essex Clipper $129.99 per-person fare includes a 21/2-hour train ride, 4-course
meal with coffee/tea service,tax, and meal service gratuity. Full cash bar service is available onboard. ** Special Excursions may be a higher fare **

  • Train Boarding Essex Station: 30 minutes prior to departure time
  • Train Departure from Essex Station: On Time (Trains can not hold for late arriving guests; trains do depart on schedule)
  • Beverages and Beverage Service Gratuity are not included in the $129.99 fare
  • For safety reasons aboard the moving train and to ensure a relaxing ride for all patrons, the Essex Clipper Dinner Train is limited to passengers age 18 and older. No infants please. All guests must sit in the dining chairs on board the train.
  • Advance reservations and payment required.
  • Reservations are non-refundable, but fully transferable with 48-hours notice.
  • Meal changes can not be honored within 48 hours of departure. Due to the limited kitchen space and provisions available on the train, no special menu alterations can be accommodated
  • No alcoholic beverages may be brought aboard the train due to our liquor license
  • The Valley Railroad reserves the right to alter equipment, schedule and menu when necessary.
