Train to the Pumpkin Patch

Hop on board our historic steam train at Essex Station for a scenic morning ride through the lower CT River Valley that stops at our beautiful meadow pumpkin patch! Bring the whole family and take in the beautiful autumn ambiance as you are transported to the Essex Steam Train’s hidden Pumpkin Patch. Here, each child gets to select their own special pumpkin and families can take advantage of a great photo opportunity!

Join us as we venture to new haunted locations, as we welcome the original CT Ghost Hunters back to the property on Oct 6 and 26. Enjoy 4 hours of investigating some of the creepiest locations around the Essex station grounds, aboard the moving train and on our Deep River station property, while guided by members of CT Ghost Hunters. We may even stop to see if the XYZ robber is still haunting the tracks with the Lady in Black.

Through this in-person, guided workshop, Paranormal Author Sydney Sherman will discuss the significance our individual aura plays in our health – physically and psychologically. You will learn about the study of auras, how to identify the many different colors of auras, and the distinct personality traits and characteristics which can be attributed to these colors.

A New Year’s Eve “Prom” to remember at Essex Station! Essex Station is once again the place to be for New Year’s Eve! Join us for a night of trains, libations, mystery, dining, dancing and a champagne (or martini) toast to the new year at midnight. Your experience begins with a swanky cocktail hour aboard our vintage train cars. Dining attendants will serve you drinks of your choice and pass hors d’oeuvres to get the party started!

Pedal a Rail-Bike for a 8 mile round trip adventure over moderate terrain from Essex Station south to Old Saybrook and return; passing along the Preserve (The Preserve is a 963 acre forest located in the towns of Old Saybrook, Essex and Westbrook. It was recognized as the largest remaining unprotected coastal forest between Boston and New York before its acquisition for conservation) while enjoying the stunning New England weather.
